Training in Evidence-Based Treatments
As part of a statewide initiative to improve care for traumatized youth, ARBEST is integrating the latest research with state-of-the-art training for mental health professionals. ARBEST operates under the auspices of the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and promotes excellence in care for children and adolescents experiencing physical or sexual abuse. Because Evidence-Based Treatments( EBTs) have demonstrated success in reducing symptoms in children and adolescents and improve coping mechanisms of parents, a statewide dissemination of such interventions has been initiated by the ARBEST program, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
