Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

PCIT  is a highly effective evidence-based treatment for young children (ages 2-7) with disruptive behavior. It has been repeatedly shown to reduce behavior problems, strengthen parent-child attachment, and improve child trauma symptoms.

Implementing PCIT in Your Agency

PCIT training involves an 18-month process including five partial days of virtual training, four partial days of virtual training for the follow-up workshop, and 18 months of consultation calls held weekly and requiring the completion of two full PCIT cases. PCIT also requires agency support, including support for therapists, maintenance of supplies, and development of key infrastructure. For more information about the PCIT training process, see the links below.

Upcoming Training:

PCIT Training: April 20-22 & 25-26, 2022. Online via Zoom. Applications extended until February 28, 2022.

Important note: Groups of therapists from the same agency are given priority to training openings as PCIT is most effectively implemented in this setting. Openings for each cohort is limited. Once a training is full, interested participants will be put on a list for information on future PCIT trainings.
